St Mary's 2nd Annual Quilt Show

I'm not sure where to begin on this one!  A small town near us hosts a quilt show in this historical painted church.  It is a beautiful exhibit and you can find more about the show here.  The grounds are so pretty as well.   Sponsor ribbons award to my quilts!   I don't have them back yet so I hope I have this correct.   Gravity was awarded by Montgomery Quilt Co and Bali Wedding Star was awarded by Sam Houston Funeral Home.   I forgot to look at Lou Ann's! Carol's Glacier Star

Another beautiful JN pattern completed by Carol.  This will be a bed quilt so the plan was a pop of detailed quilting for the center but less structured and more open going to the outside borders.   Many hours of custom stitching were eliminated by not ditch stitching everything while utilizing designs to fill and enhance the space.  We were both pleased with the results.  One layer of Hobbs 80/20 with Glide and Superior Fantastico threads used.  Thank you Carol for allowing me to custom quilt for you!

3rd Retreat @ Twelve Pines

Last week was once again such a fun and productive week spent with friends @ Denise Green 's teaching retreat.   These are very informal, do your own thing but she is there if you find something isn't working out just right.   She has her personal quilts displayed, patterns, notions, fabrics and has become a good friend over the years.  She will jump in a cut some of the lady's fabrics out if they are struggling so they can continue to piece, she will rip... she goes that extra mile to ensure everyone has a great time and accomplishes progress on their projects.

Here are some of the highlights of our April retreat:
