Another 10 Minute Block quilt

This is a quilt top that I picked up off the table for one of the guild's that I belong to.   The quilt had nice soft colors and I knew that quilting would show up so pretty on this one. I thought about the design I liked, I really love the custom, modern styles of quilting and thought this quilt would be a good candidate to showcase that style of quilting.  On the flip side, meandering feathers would be awesome on this one too!   I started my plan with just a quick sketch of the medallion going through the center.  Then I knew that I wanted to add feathers as well so I choose to quilt in a nice squared feather wreath in those small centers.   What I did not realize when I planned this was how difficult it would be to see the thread I choose for this quilt!   The thread in the blocks just melted in for the most part and I had to just go with  the rhythm of the quilting and hope for the best.   Because I could not see ...

10 minute block - Floral

Washed and dried, ready for use.  Watch Suzanne McNeill's video on how you can create this block in 10 minutes too.   This was my test project.  I've got stash that needs to be used up to make space for new collections.   I see a few of these in my future. Quilting shows on the backside!

10 minute block

This is my first 10 minute block quilt, worked up in romantic, soft florals.  I sewed the blocks over Easter weekend from a pack of pre-cuts that I have been hanging on to for years.   The fabrics speak to me  but I did not have enough of this set for most of my projects.   This little baby quilt was the perfect project to finally break them out of their little tin. I'm also trying some new techniques.  The center is stitched in a  simple free-hand flower petal of sorts in the blocks, TT in the centers. New to me is the CH woven border that I'm not so sure about yet.   But that's why I'm trying it on something small.   I used a remnant of a poly batting for this little quilt to get lots of dimension but now I'm quilting it flat in the border!  I initially thought I would do a 1/2" crosshatch but it looked too open, so had to fill in to 1/4".   Maybe should have worked this out...
