My chevron quilt "Fracture"

I'm going to post pictures of this little quilt that I made for one of my granddaughters.   I don't think I have any family that reads my blog... none are quilters so looking at this stuff ranks right up there with reading tax codes or something similar for them.   Anyway, my sweet, talented and immensely dedicated granddaughter Laura fractured her foot @ a gymnastics meet a couple of weeks ago so I made this comfort quilt for her.  I really had fun playing with this style of quilting and look forward to working on more.

These 2 pictures are backside.

This quilt should put the spring back into her step... it's so lively and colorful. And the quilting is terrific. Good quilt name, too.

I was scrolling back through your blog - I really thought I left a comment on this one already. This is an amazing quilt, Valerie. I love how you balanced the swirlies in the prints with the more linear directions in the white. Absolutely gorgeous!

I stumbled upon this block as I was scanning for ideas for a quilt for my daughter. I have a question about the quilting that looks like ruching or gathering. This is in the white part of the chevron. How did you achieve that? Is it just close quilted ovals? --thanks!

I have been looking all over the internet for interesting ways to quilt a chevron quilt. There are tons of tutorials on how to make them but not a lot about quilting them. Your's is the favorite one I've found so far. Have you quilted any other chevron quilts since this one? This is GORGEOUS!

Thank you so much! It was one of my favorite little quilts to make and quilt. As popular as these quilts have been, I have never quilted another one. I made this one too. Maybe you will have to send me yours to quilt! Again thank you so much.
