Indian Summer

I am very behind on updating quilts to my blog.   I'll start with this pretty quilt by Lou Ellen.  The pattern is Indian Summer, a Judy Niemeyer Quiltworx pattern.   You know we love our paper piecing!  This is a beautiful example of using up your scraps.  She made this for her mom and chose Feather Butterfly as an edge to edge design.

 

 

 

Yummy colors!   The quilt on my wall is a variation of a Kim Diehl pattern I made back in 2006 and quilted minimally on my DSM at that time.  I turned out so pretty.... but started as an Ugly Fabric Challenge with my guild!  I could not resist taking a photo of those colors laid out together.   You can see why I love Lou Ellens' quilt so much.   My colors!
